I'm a children's book author, mom, and former high school teacher. My agent, Alyssa Eisner Henkin, sold my first novel, "Faithful", to Jen Bonnell of Speak/Penguin Group. "Faithful" is a YA romance, mystery and adventure story set in Yellowstone National Park in 1904. It was a nominee for YALSA's Best Fiction for Young Adults, 2010, and an Amelia Bloomer List pick, 2011. My companion novel, "Forgiven," set in California in 1906, launched in 2011 and is a Junior Library Guild selection. I'm currently at work on a third YA historical and a fantasy middle grade, featuring angels and devils and one human boy who has sold his soul.
My first book, "Get Organized Without Losing It" (Free Spirit Publishing, 2006), is a self-help guide for middle school kids. I'm a graduate of Vermont College of Fine Arts with my MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults. I'm also active in the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and have been both Regional and Assistant Regional Advisor for Brazos Valley, Texas.
